Disputes
What to do when something goes wrong with an order.
When to Open a Dispute
Disputes are for situations you cannot resolve directly with the other party. Good reasons to open one:
- Work not delivered - Deadline passed and you got nothing
- Not as described - What you got is different from what was promised
- Quality issues - Work is significantly below expectations
- Communication breakdown - Worker is unresponsive
- Late delivery - Significantly past the deadline with no communication
Before opening a dispute, try messaging the worker or buyer first. Many issues can be resolved with a quick conversation.
How to Open a Dispute
- Go to the order page
- Click Report Order or Open Dispute
- Select the reason for the dispute
- Describe what happened in detail
- Upload evidence (screenshots, files, etc.)
- Submit
Once submitted, the order is paused. Funds stay in escrow until the dispute is resolved.
What Happens During a Dispute
After you open a dispute:
- Both parties notified - The other person sees there is a dispute
- Evidence collection - Both sides can submit their side of the story
- Admin review - A Workrr admin looks at everything
- Resolution - Admin makes a decision and distributes funds
There is a dedicated dispute chat where you can communicate with the admin and provide additional information.
Dispute Statuses
- Open - Just submitted, awaiting review
- Under Review - Admin is actively looking into it
- Resolved - Decision made, funds distributed
Possible Outcomes
The admin can decide:
- Full refund to buyer - If work was not delivered or clearly not as described
- Full payment to worker - If work was delivered as promised
- Partial split - If both sides share responsibility (like 50/50 or 70/30)
The admin explains their reasoning so both parties understand the decision.
Tips for a Strong Dispute
- Be specific about what went wrong
- Include evidence - Screenshots, messages, files that support your case
- Stay factual - Stick to what happened, not emotions
- Respond promptly if the admin asks for more info
Avoiding Disputes
Most disputes can be prevented with good communication:
- Buyers: Be clear about requirements upfront. Ask questions before ordering if unsure.
- Workers: Make sure you understand what is being asked. Deliver on time or communicate delays early.
- Both: Use the order chat to keep a record. Try to resolve issues directly before escalating.
